Terminology

From NU: Carnival Guides

Below is a list of common terminologies used to mention certain mechanics in the game.

UID

UID literally stands for Unique Identifier, it refers to your special account code. UID is used for restoring lost accounts and adding players as friends.

FC

Friend Code, this is for sharing a special code among other players so that they may use it to give you rewards such as Contracts, Spirit Gems, and Sorcery Gems.

Pot

Shortened for Potential, this is a character growth system that increases your character's stats (HP and ATK) by a percentage amount. Potential requires a lot of materials and gold to invest into so it is not for beginning players.

Bond/Room

Bond is in reference to how far in investment you are with the Intimacy system. For example when a player says their unit is at Bond 4, they mean that that unit in particular currently has 4 Intimacy Rooms completed. Intimacy is also a source of increasing stats at the cost of no gold but many items.

DPS

A common term among RPGs, DPS is the acronym for "Damage Per Second". It refers to your main damage dealer and in NU: Carnival it's typically in reference to whoever your Striker Class is in your team.

A subcategory of this is ST/AOE which is Single-Target and Area-Of-Effect respectively. ST means that DPS will only attack a single enemy, AOE means the DPS will attack all enemies at the same time.
